How-to install (Jira Cloud)

BDD for Jira is installed as an app through Atlassian Marketplace.

Note that in order to use this app with “Team-managed Jira projects” there is one additional configuration step described further below on this page

Click on the “Apps” drop down menu and then on “Explore more apps” like shown in the screenshot below or alternatively, click on the following link BDD for Jira on Marketplace
In the search box type “BDD for Jira“ and choose this app from the returned results
Click on the “Try it free” button to add the app to your Jira site

Start using

Once the app has been installed the Feature panel can be added to a Jira issue by clicking on the “Apps” → “Feature” drop down menu as shown below

Then simply click inside the Feature panel to start editing your Feature

Additional configuration step for Team-managed projects

Before this app can be used with Team-managed projects, custom fields provided by the app must be explicitly added in the project’s settings area. This manual step is necessary as Jira Cloud currently does not support adding such configuration in an automated way for Team-managed projects. In case you are using a Company-managed project, then this step is not necessary.

You will see the following warning message in the Feature panel if the required configuration is missing

Navigate to the “Project Settings” → “Fields” → “Add field” and add all the fields that start with or are named ”Feature” like shown in the screenshot below

Once the app’s fields have been added the warning on the issue page will go away. Note that this step needs to be performed once for each Team-managed project with which you’d like to use the app.
